Home of the Roasted Bean Coffee Company
The Bread & Bean is an artisan sourdough bakery and small-batch coffee roastery serving Allentown, New Jersey and the surrounding Monmouth County community. We specialize in naturally fermented sourdough breads, seasonal artisan loaves, and freshly roasted coffee crafted in small batches for exceptional flavor.
Thanks to our partnership with River Valley Community Grains, we offer 100% fresh-milled organic flour in all of our sourdough. They are a local NJ mill using a collaborative approach to grain production, encouraging farmers to use regenerative
agricultural methods.
Our breads are made using traditional fermentation methods and high-quality ingredients to create bold flavor and beautiful crusts. Find us at local markets, pop-ups, and special events. Part of the proceeds go t0 a wonderful local charity called "The Giveback Foundation". They focus on helping individuals in Central NJ and surrounding areas that have suffered a setback due to unforeseen circumstances.
Our Story
The Bread & Bean was born from the beautiful chaos of raising twin boys and the simple joy of making good food from scratch. When our boys were born, life naturally slowed down and more time was spent in the kitchen — cooking, baking, and learning to appreciate the process of real food made with care. Around that time, a passion for coffee began to grow, eventually becoming The Roasted Bean Coffee Company, where we began roasting organic, fair-trade coffee and sharing it with our community. Not long after, we discovered the craft of naturally leavened sourdough bread. What started as curiosity quickly became a daily rhythm in our home — nurturing a living starter, patiently fermenting dough, and filling the kitchen with the aroma of fresh bread. Friends and neighbors soon began asking for loaves of their own, and it became clear that coffee and bread belonged together.

That’s how The Bread & Bean came to life — bringing together our love for artisan coffee and handcrafted sourdough bread, both made with time, patience, and lots of love. Today, everything we create reflects what matters most to us: family, craftsmanship, and sharing good food with our community.
Our mission is to craft exceptional coffee and slow-fermented sourdough bread using simple ingredients, time-honored techniques and a commitment to quality. Through everything we create, we strive to bring people together around good food, great coffee, and meaningful moments shared at the table.
